The Danville Sea Devils is a recreational summer swim team that focuses on fostering a positive environment for swimmers to develop stroke technique and an understanding of the competitive swim environment. In addition to the summer recreational team, the Sea Devils also host programs for younger children who aren't quite ready for the full team as well as a spring and fall clinic. All new swimmers to the team who are 7 and under will be evaluated for team readiness before the start of the season. Evaluations are to assess the swimmer's ability to swim 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke unassisted (the strokes do not have to be perfect). The evaluation is to ensure that swimmers can safely get themselves across the pool. If your swimmer is not able to complete the laps please consider our Little Devils program or putting him or her in lessons. Splash and American Swim Academy are a couple of local swim schools that provide lessons. The date and time of evaluations will be communicated once registration is finalized. 

* In the event that you have registered and the coaches have determined that your swimmer is not quite ready for the program a full refund will be given.

The team and all meets are run by parent volunteers. Each family is required to fulfill certain volunteer credits during the season. These credits can be fulfilled by volunteering for jobs to assist with swim meets or team management. Please refer to the Parent Commitment page for further information.  

Coaches ask that swimmers come to each practice with the following:

• Goggles
• Fins (slips ons NOT straps)
• Practice suit (no baggy suits and no swim shirts)
• Cap (for those swimmers with long hair)

Team suits, team caps, and Sea Devil's Spiritwear are available for purchase. It is strongly recommended that swimmers have a team suit and cap for swim meets.
